CAMP #334
May 2018
The Lakota are one of many tribes who were forced off of their own lands to prisoner-of-war camps, now called reservations. The Pine Ridge Reservation used to be called Prisoner of War Camp #334, and where the Lakota now live. The Camp #334 poster series was created to inform people of the appalling yet largely ignored statistics and events that are currently happening on the Pine Ridge Reservation. The suffering of indigenous people is not a simple issue to fix. Native American issues are consistently put on the back burner of media agendas. I wanted these posters convey emotion through images and show pride in the Native American culture that has once been oppressed.
